Day Two. Getting the bandage off was a little tricky. It had dried to the cut, and it was stuck both to the dried blood, and to the stitches. Running it under water did the trick though, and cleaned the area a bit to boot.

Day Two. Bandage freshly removed, and it's time to let it breath. You can see from this view that the slice butts right up against my fingernail. Without that nail, I'm afraid I would have lost a lot more than just a little blood.

Day Two. The bottom of my finger. The cut goes fully halfway into my finger, and given that it's a flat edged blade, the cut itself is halfway into my finger. Ouch.

Day Four. Some discoloration there near the apex of the cut. I suspect that's tissue slowly dying.

Day Five. The swelling has gone down a bit, but the redness continues to deepen.

Day Five. Some of the dried blood is starting to flake out on the underside, oddly enough, right where the stitches are. I would have expected it to wear out between them first.

Day 8. I missed some days getting photos taken. Was too busy, or not in a position to make it happen. Things are still pretty much as they were on the 5th day.

Day 8. Swelling is clearly evident, but there's no discoleration indicating infection.

Day 12. Stitches removed!! Here you can see, if you look closely, where the blade actually cut into the nail. I think it's just a surface scratch though, or I would imagine a lot more bloody discoloration under the nail.

Day 12. The dead skin is starting to peel away here. I'm not sure why the fingerprints are faded there in the middle, but it's not a digital artifact… that's the way it looks.

Day 16. Outward signs are fading for the most casual observer. I'm starting to think, in spite of the lack of blood, that the marking in the nail is full cut, rather than a mere scratch.
