Wow. Had a power outage early on Sunday morning, and have been unable to get MySQL up and running until now. Granted, I’ve not taken a lot of time to do so, but the time spent was futile until just now. I had to deinstall both the mysql-client and mysql-server ports, delete all the related files, and reinstall them both, being careful to back up my wordpress directories and database. Something got mighty corrupt in the unplanned shutdown, I tell you what.

So… back up now. Carry on.

I got tired of trying to maintain my own home grown blog. I got tired of what was up there. I got tired of having lots of ideas, but not having the patience or time to implement them. So, I brought WordPress in. I did a little looking around and liked the look of it best, and the behind-the-scenes options are pretty cool too.
