Over at Sunbelt, there’s a report of a new (at least to me) take on malware, ransomware.

Once installed, this little bastard will apparently encrypt files of the types txt, xls, doc, pps, ppt, docx, xlsx, pptx, rtf, mdb, vsd, vst, csv, mpl, zip, and rar and drop the following text file out for your reading pleasure:
