Vegas Bound!

As I said earlier, this past weekend was the APA 9-ball Regional Championships. They were held at the Pool Room in Lawrence, KS, where all of about 11 or 12 teams participated. Things kicked off at around 9:00am Saturday morning, and went until late that night. Starting up again at 11:30ish Sunday, everything wrapped up about 10 hours later at 9:30 or so.
After all was said and done, my 9-ball team, “Nothing is Over”, came out on top! August 15th through the 18th, we’ll be playing for the national APA title in Las Vegas! As of Saturday night, if you’ll recall, I was only mildly excited about it, if that. I won’t go into the reasons why quite yet. At this point it doesn’t really matter, b/c on Sunday I saw and was made part of a few things that put me very much into the Vegas mindset. The issue of getting time off work is still there, but given the fact that my boss is currently on vacation for a week, and will be taking a full two weeks in November, I don’t think a few days in August are going to be that much of a problem. I sure as hell hope not, anyway. Other than that, the big question is convincing the girlfriend that she wants to go too. I can’t imagine why she wouldn’t! It’s Vegas, after all, and the rest of the team is anxious to finally meet her.
I only played three times during the weekend, and each time I was able to come out on top. I did my part, small though it may have been, to help my team get to Vegas. :)
My boss comes back from vacation in Wisconsin next Monday, and I’m going to ask him then. I’ll let you know how things go…
